Put a single seater race car through its paces on the Fifth Gear test track!
When you arrive you will be allocated a trained instructor who will explain the racing day itinerary to you in detail and go through the safety regime. You will complete a number of practice laps in a saloon car so that you can familiarise yourself with the track and learn new racing techniques from your instructor after which you will complete a full 25 laps split into 3 sessions in either a Van Dieman or Crossle single seater.

Single Seater and Caterham

Get to drive the Van Diemen Single Seater and Caterham Super 7 around a track and compare notes. Both the Van Diemen and Caterham and extremely quick, lightweight racing cars and will present the ultimate in speed and handling. Many F1 drivers have honed their skills in a Van Diemen Single Seater!
Your driving will begin in a BMW Alpina D3 which you will take around the track with your instructor to get used to the track and learn new racing driving techniques. Once you are comfortable on the track you get to graduate to the Van Diemen Single Seater which is a favourite of David Coulthard. This is one of the most agile cars on the planet so take a deep breath and strap yourself in tightly for your 4 laps. Next up is the equally as thrilling Caterham Super 7 which you will also drive for 4 laps around the track.
At the end of the driving experience you will get a one on one assessment of your driving from your instructor and you will receive a driving certificate to remind you of your day.

Extreme Dodgems Stockcar Racing

You get to race a real saloon stockcar around a track with a live announcer commenting on the action throughout and trophies for the best drivers.
When you arrive at the centre you will be given light refreshments and briefed on the day’s action by the race steward. You will then hop into a 1300cc saloon stockcar and start a practice session of 4 laps to get used to the car and the track. This will be followed by the first of the race heats which consist of 8 laps each. Depending on the point accrued in your heats you may find yourself in the Championship final group race which consists of a 10 lap race against the other fastest drivers on the day. The winners of the Championship races will meet in the 8 lap Showdown event to find the overall fastest stockcar driver on the day.
The presentation ceremony will follow where the winners will be awarded their trophies.

The minimum age for drivers is 17 years old.
The maximum height for drivers to participate is 6′ 6″.
The minimum height for drivers to participate is 4′ 10″.
The maximum weight is 20 stone.
You need to have a valid UK manual driving license to participate.
Availability

Race dumpers competitively to find out who is the king of the dumper (racers)!
Racing dumpers is a great fun day out – particularly if you are racing with a few friends. Typically each competitor will get to race in two different heats with the fastest times recorded to see who will race in the final head to head race. If you are the luck winner you will take home the legendary Diggerland goodie pack.

A great day spent racing a single seater racing car and getting expert racing tuition from a qualified instructor.
Once you have arrived at your chosen venue you will begin a safety briefing after which you will take out a performance saloon car and complete laps under the guidance of a qualified instructor. You will be given tips on racing lines and braking so that you can utilise this knowledge in the single seater later on. Once you are comfortable out on the track you will be able to take the wheel of your single seater racing car which will be a Formula First, Formula Renault or Formula Ford.
